As a Junior/Assistant Editor for Cut, you have:

-1-2  years of editing experience
-Experience with Adobe Creative Suite: Premiere Pro, Media Encoder, and After Effects.
-Experience with camera operation, lighting, etc. a plus.
-On- Set media management experience.
-Experience loading and syncing live action footage.
-Strong storytelling capabilities.Knowledge of color correction/grading and audio mixing.
-Team-oriented individual who can collaborate with directors, producers and editors.
-Exceptional organizational skills.

JUNIOR PRODUCER

The kind of people hungry for content that respects them as smart and isn’t interested in stories that pander or prescribe to them. Sitting at the intersection of media sites like Buzzfeed and Vice, Cut aspires to create the kind of work that is both viral and smart, highly produced and scalable, mainstream and cool. And we’re looking for innovative creators to make us get there.   

As a  Junior Producer  for Cut, you will participate in every level of the process, starting from ideation, through pre- and post-production.  We work as a multidisciplinary team and look for talent with complementary backgrounds. Cut Producers have varying levels of experience with the hard and soft skills of production: ideation, directing, casting, shooting, editing, interviewing, and budgeting.
 
As a junior producer, here's what you'll do.

Day-to-day you will:
-Work with Producers to develop concepts, schedule shoots, and budget forecasts.
-Coordinate crew/production personnel, cast, shoot schedules, air travel, rental cars, hotel accommodations and distribute production memos
-Independently cast talent for all Cut videos
-Source and gather props
-Actualize budgets
-Maintain department budget spreadsheets as they relate to specific projects including forecasting, monthly accounting and accruals.
-Process department paperwork including talent release forms, liability waivers, as well as new vendor and payroll set-up, invoicing, and corporate card expenses.
-Various office administrative tasks
-Brainstorm video concepts

During shoots you will:
-Be the point of contact for all crew/production personnel and cast
-Oversee production assistants, and be the production assistant if necessary
-Organize meal orders
-Troubleshoot any behind the scenes problems (location, meals, etc.) so crew can continue to work
-Handle all necessary paperwork
-Occasionally appear on camera as talent
-Work diplomatically with talent in a variety of contexts, which may include alcohol or legal cannabis consumption, speaking openly across the spectrum of political subjects and beliefs, and addressing other sensitive topics on camera.

Here’s what you bring to the table:
-1+ years experience in production in a fast-paced video production environment.
-Bachelor’s Degree or a combination of education and experience that would approximate the level of professionalism
-Knowledge and passion for social media and viral content and advertising.
-Excellent communication skills, written and verbal
-Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills
-Ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
-Demonstrated professionalism and ability to maintain confidentiality

As a Channel Manager for Cut, you bring your passion for storytelling, digital media, and data to make our content fit perfectly for our fans on Youtube or Facebook. The right Director of Sales is a fearless self starter who will help set Cut’s revenue objectives and drive them forward by sourcing, evaluating, and closing sponsorship and other monetization opportunities across our franchises (cut.com/brands).
 
As a Director of Sales, responsibilities will include:

- Cultivating and closing Sponsorships across 5% of new releases while managing deal flow, pipeline, negotiations and inbound interest from third parties.
- Managing day to day relationships with key partners such as Facebook, YouTube, Vid.me, Go90, Comcast, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, etc.
- Working closely with the Cut Programming team to develop, test and scale direct to consumer monetization offerings (merchandise, subscription, etc.) for our brands such as HiHo, Cut, This Matters and 100 Years of Beauty.
- Working with the Executive Team to assess strategic opportunities, M&A, business and business planning.

Qualifications:
- BA/BS degree or equivalent practical experience.
- Knowledge of online video and experience in online entertainment or new media with an understanding of the online entertainment space such as YouTube, Facebook, etc.
- Experience developing strategic partnerships in the digital content industry.
- Strong pre-existing network with potential sponsors and partners.

Preferred qualifications:
- 2-5 years of work experience in sales.
- Experience negotiating media agreements.
- Digital distribution experience; proven track record of initiating and successfully driving new business opportunities in the media and/or digital space.
- Strong understanding of the Internet media space, search engines, and digital content business models and experience working with external companies and partners in the content industry.
- Excellent leadership, planning, management, communication, presentation time management.
